Cantinho das Fadas is a bilingual forest school in Algés, Portugal, for children aged 3 to 6, where learning takes place in deep connection with nature, through free play, movement, curiosity and secure relationships. In a natural, safe and welcoming environment, each child is supported with care, respect and closeness, following their individual pace of development. Learning happens in a living and experiential way, in Portuguese and English, fostering autonomy, emotional confidence and a genuine joy of learning.
Our pedagogical offerings include regular explorations in nature, sensory activities, creative expression and moments of free play — all fundamental to physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. We believe that children who grow up connected to nature, to themselves and to others build strong foundations for a balanced, conscious and happy life.

Bilingual project with daily exposure to English
At Cantinho das Fadas, English is experienced in a natural and integrated way throughout the child's day. Through a gentle approach (Soft CLIL), the language appears in real-life contexts, fostering understanding, familiarity and a positive relationship with English, always respecting each child's rhythm and development.
English emerges naturally in real moments such as play, stories, music, movement and exploration, making learning meaningful and enjoyable.
Understanding comes first. Each child begins to speak when they feel ready and confident, without expectations, corrections or pressure.
Small daily interactions help build familiarity with the language, expand vocabulary and integrate English in a light and continuous way.
We share simple suggestions so families can continue their child's contact with English at home, in a natural and relaxed way.

Nature every day
Connection with nature is an essential part of our daily life. Forest visits take place twice a week. On the remaining days, we visit nearby parks whenever weather conditions allow, offering children regular opportunities to play outdoors, explore, observe and experience the changing seasons.
